Founded by Yvon Chouinard, notable for founding Patagonia, 1% for the Planet was founded to prevent greenwashing, certify reputable giving and provide accountability. The 1% for the Planet certification is given to businesses that meet their high-bar of commitment and donate at least 1% of annual sales to environmental causes.

Caldera + Lab gladly opened our doors for Made Safe’s inspectors to audit our entire production chain. As America’s first non-toxic certification association, they’ve confirmed that we only use non-toxic ingredients in our products, production process, and supply chain. Made Safe is the first association to go beyond organic regulations and the EPA’s registered 85,000 chemicals, to classify toxins that build up over time in our bodies, environment, and oceans.

Leaping Bunny Certification is an international gold standard for cosmetics and personal care products. Their certification confirms that Caldera + Lab isn’t just currently vegan and cruelty-free, but that we’ve also implemented a supplier monitoring system to ensure that we’re never connected to animal testing. Ever.

In addition to Leaping Bunny, Caldera + Lab is also proud to be certified by PETA's Beauty Without Bunnies program. We’ve never tested our products on animals, and never will.

Certified plastic neutral in partnership with rePurpose Global. With every product we sell, we are financing vetted impact projects that will recover and remove as much plastic waste from the environment as we use in our packaging and operations. In addition to reducing plastic use in our supply chain wherever possible, our partnership with rePurpose Global allows us to create immediate impact on plastic pollution, while supporting ethical wages for often marginalized waste workers.
