Tips For Healthier Skin This Summer

The truth is, you can stick to the same quality skincare regimen year-round, but there are a few simple tweaks you can make to ensure your skin stays healthy during these hotter, sweatier months.

1. More Antioxidants

Antioxidants help protect your skin from damage from all that time in the sun. The Good serum has 3.4 million antioxidant units per drop.

The Good Serum is packed with ingredients that help heal your skin and prevent damage after long hours in the sun including Fireweed, CoQ10, and Sea Buckthorn. Learn more about its ingredients here

2. Hydrate

We've said it once, and we'll say it again – drinking enough water is one of the simplest ways to improve your overall health including your digestion, energy levels, and of course, your skin health.

According to The Mayo Clinic*, "enough water" means 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men and about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.

3. Choose A Gentle Cleanser

It is especially important to wash your face every morning and night in these sweatier months. Using a gentle cleanser, like The Clean Slatewill remove dirt, debris, and grime without stripping the natural oils from your skin.

4. Reapply The SPF

SPF is for all year round but it's especially important when you're spending long hours outdoors. We recommend finding a clean, broad-spectrum SPF to block both UVA and UVB rays. Make sure to reapply ever 2 hours, especially after sweating or swimming.

5. Go Easy On The Booze

With summer BBQs and days on the water, there are always occasions to celebrate in the summer months. Remember that alcohol can lead to dehydrated and inflamed skin. Enjoy in moderation, and go easy on the sugary cocktails.

5. Exfoliate Your Body, Too

Our new bar soap will help clean pores, moisturize skin, and reduce the chance of body acne during these sweatier months.
