Anti-Aging Face Serums for a Youthful Look

Time takes its toll on everyone, but it seems as though some men continue to look younger than their actual age.

  • Idris Elda, David Beckham, and Ryan Reynolds are in their mid 40’s.
  • Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler, and Brad Pitt are in their 50’s.
  • Denzel Washington, Liam Neeson, and Pierce Brosnan are in their 60’s.

Good grooming, skincare, and self-care habits can make a huge difference in how you look and how you feel about yourself. All of these men have maintained their healthy glow, but they also exude self-confidence and self-love. They didn’t achieve that through magic.

Those with access to good estheticians, especially those in the entertainment space know that a thorough self-care regimen that focuses on skincare is vital to aging well.

If you want to enhance the youthfulness of your face (or at least be the best version of yourself), a lot of factors are at play.

Eating a healthy diet, getting exercise, and routinely using SPF is crucial. Using the right serum to hydrate and nourish your skin will also play a major role.

Serums make a lot of promises, but few actually deliver.

Many of them are full of toxins or synthetically produced ingredients that have a limited capacity to meaningfully promote the youthful appearance of your skin.

Before you start skincare shopping, it helps to understand what a serum does and what ingredients you should be looking for.

What Is a Serum?

Serums are the most valuable part of your skincare routine. Serums can go to work while you’re asleep after cleansing, transforming your skin overnight.

Serums are highly concentrated. They contain a greater volume of active ingredients than products like cleansers or moisturizers.

Just fill the dropper with serum, then release the serum onto your palm and gently massage it into your face and neck. Our skin quiz can help you determine the exact number of drops you should use. A few small drops will be sufficient to nourish your entire face. There’s no need to slather it on.

How Do Serums Work?

Serums work to hydrate the skin. Your skin drinks up the serum that’s infused with deeply nourishing ingredients and active botanicals.

These ingredients penetrate the surface of your skin, working to improve the health and appearance of your skin from within.

How to Use Serums

Serums are the center step in your skincare routine. After you wash your face, gently pat it dry with a clean towel to absorb the excess water.

Then, apply a few drops of serum to your face. Serum can be gently massaged into your skin with little to no pressure. Massage in a few drops at a time to avoid overusing the product.

After your serum has fully seeped into your skin, top it off with a moisturizer. Your moisturizer will seal in your serum and provide a protective barrier between your skin and the environment.

Antioxidant-rich moisturizers are thought to help  ward off the damaging effects of free radicals and environmental pollution.

Don’t forget to use sunscreen during the daytime if you plan to spend the day outside. The sun is highly damaging to your skin, and there’s no sense in taking better care of your skin if you’re going to let the sun undo your work.

For best results, you should stick to your skincare routine in the morning and at night. Using your skincare products twice a day enables them to provide a constant stream of benefits.

Anti-Aging Serum Ingredients

Anti-aging can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. You may consider a serum that deeply moisturizes your skin to have an anti-aging effect, as dehydrated or dry skin often looks older than its actual age.

You may consider ingredients that fade sunspots to have an anti-aging effect for the way they brighten your complexion.

The most commonly accepted definition of an anti-aging product is one that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is where vetting the claims of ingredients is of the utmost importance.

Skincare products that bill themselves as anti-aging and beneficial to your skin health will contain many of the “dirty dozen” toxic ingredients.

That’s why Caldera + Lab only uses clinically proven active botanicals in our men’s skincare products.

We’ve created products that provide significant benefits without the use of toxic or synthetic ingredients. The entire bottle of our serum is full of plants. That’s it.

Spilanthes Plant Extract

Spilanthes enriches the skin with moisturizers, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Spilanthes also have natural cleansing properties that improve the appearance of pores and balance natural oils.

Huang Qi

Huang Qi has been a major staple of Chinese medicine for hundreds of years, touted for its anti-aging effects. The benefits of Huang qi on the human body have been clinically observed on a variety of markers of aging. Also known as Astragalus Root it helps tighten and firm the appearance of the skin.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 occurs in every cell of the human body. As we age, our bodies produce less CoQ10. CoQ10 is a valuable antioxidant that helps to protect the health of cells.

This combination of protection, and improved utilization of other active skin care ingredients makes CoEnzyme Q10 a popular ingredient that many use on their skin.

Echinacea

Echinacea has been historically used as herbal medicine. The moisturizing properties can be delivered to your skin when echinacea is applied topically.

Echinacea nourishes the skin from the inside out while helping your body reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
